Our latest garden channel trailer for the year 2016 on Youtube.
Here are results of the cross breeding we did last year of our tomato hybrid called Sunny Girl. This is the 3rd generation of the tomato or a F3 and we got some interesting yet unstable results from our cross. We are now going down a cross road of 2 different variants to see what we get for our next generation in the F4.
How to reuse a black pepper grinder with your coriander seeds to freshen up any food dish in your kitchen.
Record rain fall in the south including Texas, Oklahoma, and Arkansas has destroyed a lot of plants, gardens and farmland. I have never seen so much rain fall in my garden and scrambling on what to do to save my tomato plants. I came up with a tongue in cheek way to save my tomato plants with my latest invention called the Tomato Saver.
We finally got our soil test sample results back from the state extension office and was baffled by our soil results. I put of a lot of thought into and hard work to improve the garden space I figured that I would get better results or should I say different results. I research the internet to see what all the numbers indicated. I found the video from One Yard Revolution and he broke down the results on his soil sample and it all made sense.
Assuming anything can be a bad thing and you need to know the numbers to make sense of what you have and don’t have. A soil sample from a professional lab is one of the best investments you can make to your garden, plants and yourself.
The old cliche “knowing is half the battle” fits best with this ideology.
Please contact your local extension office and invest your time and get the information about your soil and your plants will thank you for it.

The Self Watering Drip Irrigation System made completely from PVC is the subject of this video. We found a pin on Pinterest that went viral and decided if it was easy and cheap like the article claimed. We made the whole drip system for the low price of $50.00.
We used a very small amount of drip irrigation supplies. I chose this method over soaker hoses due the longevity of PVC materials. With the add on of the Melnor Water timer ,model 3012, this irrigation system is completely automated.
The water system is a furrow style to water between the rows of your garden. We used a 7/64 drill bit to make the self drip size just right.I would go smaller next time. If your ever in the south during the heat of the summer, this will help water your garden and save your hard work on your plants.
